We have pushed out iBegin Share 2.3 (and wp plugin 1.2 to go along with it). It’s a pretty mild update, that includes one pretty cool new feature: Statistics. We’ve built in some quick stats to let you see how people are using the share plugin, on your blog, or standalone (although the WP integration is pretty wicked).

We have also updated the button to use the open share icon.

Hi, I really like iBegin Share, especially the openness of it (compared to ShareThis). I was wondering if you guys were planning on keeping the WordPress plug-ins directory updated with your current versions. Since WordPress 2.5 came out, users can now update their plug-ins automatically through the WordPress admin panel as long as the new version is in the WordPress plug-ins directory. This is really useful for many people, so they don’t have to hunt down the iBegin website (and every other plug-in they use) to make sure they have the latest version.

Hi, I would also like to see this plugin auto update via WordPress repository.

Not sure if it was you that did it, bu it’s in the plugins directory now. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I love the plugin, and thank you for all your hard work. I just wanted to let you know that I used the automatic upgrade and it stopped working. I removed it, reinstalled, deleted the old tables in the database, etc., disabled all other plugins etc., and still nothing. I had to remove it for now until I can figure out what isn’t working, but, the ibegin.com site has been down for days as well, so haven’t been able to see if anyone else is having this problem etc. to troubleshoot. If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them as I would really love to get this back up on my site. Thanks again-

iBegin Share 1.4 for WordPress seems to have introduced some bugs.

The email, pdf, word options have disappeared.

The file name, ibegin-share is not correct either, it should be ibegin_share.

Also I don’t believe the themes work either. They might work on the button, but the actual window color remains default (blue) even when changed.

Any idea when these bugs might be addressed?

Will iBegin be limited to self-hosted blogs, or are there ways to use it for third party hosts (Blogger, Tumblr, etc.)
